Wanted Items: 7/8-7/14

Hey everyone!  Karlie's been really busy lately so I decided I would just make a post for now to keep you guys updated!  Hope you like it(:

1. H&M Color Blocked Top: I love the way this top looks!  It has a laid back feel, but the design makes it seem like you put effort into picking it out.  Its not completely plain, but its not over the top.  Perfect with some boyfriend jeans or some cutoff shorts!
2. Topshop Corset Top:  Sadly this item is sold out, but I love the style of it.  We included a corset top in our last Wanted post, but I feel like this one has a completely different feel to it.  The bright blue and flower pattern are perfect for summer and strolling on the beach.
3. ROMWE High Low Hem Skirt:  I love this skirt so much!  It has definitely been on my wish list for so long, and I can't wait to get one like it.  The color is so bright and bold and would for sure be an eye catcher on the street.  Hopefully I'll be able to sew one like this soon, so I'll keep you posted!
4. H&M Colored Blazer:  This blazer is also from H&M (I love this store and was checking out some of their stuff online).  The bright color is great for summer and adds a pop of color to any outfit.  Its also perfect for semi-dressy occasions!  I personally would pair this with a black body con skirt and plain white t-shirt so the attention goes towards your jacket!

   Zara Bow Sandals: We included these shoes in our favorites, but I cannot express how much I love them.  They are so simple, but not too plain.  I would definitely wear these with a nice sundress or just jeans and a t-shirt.  They are perfect for so many types of occasions, just like the blazer!  Sadly they are sold out, so hopefully they will be back in stock soon!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Long Strap Purse - 

This isn't the exact purse I was thinking, but I couldn't find the one I saw in the store online.  It was a gorgeous teal color with a long strap.  It didn't really have any pockets on the outside and wasn't that big, but it was the perfect size for keeping everything you need to go out!

Movie: Take Me Home - 

I was initially going to watch this movie with my friend, but we didn't end up buying it.  So, when I got home, Kinsey and I bought it on iTunes and had a movie night!  It was amazing...if you're into romantic comedies, you definitely have to see this movie!

eos Smooth Sphere - 

These little chapstick balls are amazing!!!  I think between everyone in our family, we must have at least 10 lying around the house.  My personal favorite is the lemon drop one, but the strawberry sorbet one also smells so good - and they make your lips super smooth! 

Holey Sweaters - 

They're perfect for summer weather since they're not too thick.  You can wear it to the beach over your swimsuit or over a bandeau or tank top when your hanging around.  I definitely have a ton of these stocked up for the nice summer weather.

High Waisted Shorts/Cutoff Shorts - 

For high waisted shorts, I am so in love with this style of shorts.  I feel like you can wear it with almost any t-shirt you have and it'll look super cute.  They're perfect for summer when you want to mix things up, since they're still shorts.  If I can find a pair of high waisted shorts that are also cutoffs, even better!  The cutoffs just make an outfit seem more casual and beachy.

Boyfriend Jeans - 

The most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever had.  You can wear them day or night and it'll still make an adorable outfit.  Also perfect for summer since they're not too tight so you won't feel too hot.

Zara Bow Sandals -

I first saw these on polyvore when I was making this set.  I think they are perfect for summer!  You can use them for somewhat nicer occasions or when you're just going to hang out with your friends.

Book: The Help -

When I saw this book in the bookstore, I knew I wanted to read it before I saw the movie.  I knew it must be good since I had heard such great things about the movie, and everything I heard was so true.  Kathryn Stockett is able to connect with the reader through the characters and their relationships with each other.  Definitely a must read!

Wanted Items: 6/17-6/23

Purple - Karlie

1.   Ombre Shorts:  I found these shorts while I was making a polyvore set and they are AMAZING!  I love the ombre affect and the bright colors!  Any bright colored shorts or patterned shorts are perfect for summer!  Definitely need to pick up a pair soon!
2. Dolce Vita Basia Maxi Dress:  We both first saw this look while watching the most recent episode of Pretty Little Liars, Kingdom of the Blind.  Spencer's (Troian Bellisario) look is perfect in so many ways!  The maxi skirt screams summer and the belt she paired it with ties it together.  Her outfit couldn't get any better!
3.   Urban Expressions Blake Satchel (in brown):  Perfect day to day bag!  Its big enough to hold all your stuff and still looks adorable!  Plus the neutral color will go well with almost anything you wear!
4. URBANEARS Headphones:  I pretty much fell in love with these headphones from the first time I saw them.  My friend had them at school and was showing me how you can plug in multiple headphones into the ear flaps.  They look super cute and are super helpful in a group of people.  Hopefully I can get them soon!
5. Ditsy Daisy Bustier:  Love this corset top!  Goes well with pretty much anything: high waisted shorts, maxi skirts, or jeans.  And the back is super cute!

From Runway to Your Closet: Giambattista Valli Spring Summer 2011

While some may think you have to spend tons of money to get a look right off the runway, it's super simple to find more affordable alternatives.

Monochrome Pairings:

H&M Slim Jeans

Zara False Pocket T-Shirt

For the first and last look, which are pretty much the same but with solids and prints, all you have to do is make sure your shirt and pants have the same print or are the same solid color.  For the shirt, you want to find a t-shirt with a pocket, like this false pocket tee from Zara.

High Low Hem Dress:

 

Nordstrom Strapless Chiffon Dress

The second look is a simple flow-y chiffon strapless dress.  Valli uses a more dramatic form of the high low hem.  He has a shorter hem in the front that suddenly becomes a longer hem without any gradual change.  This dress from Nordstrom's is designed with a more gradual change, but nonetheless captures the same effect.  The material mimics the dress created by Valli and is very similar besides the pattern.

Fur Coat:

ASOS Faux Fur Coat

This third look is more for winter with the faux fur coat.  The dress underneath is a simple shift dress.  The goal is to have a dress without any particular shape; you want it to be straight-cut.  If it is colder where you live for winter, you could add a simple pair of tights to keep you warmer.  The look created my Valli has a collared fur coat, however, this coat from ASOS could be used to create the same look with a scarf or a embellishment necklace.
